E-stops and holding loads in lifting applications require a very special approach. The friction materials used on our spring actuated brakes provide optimal torque for the shortest stopping distances or the highest holding forces for a given size. Most of our designs use multiple springs to ensure sufficient holding torque even in the event of a spring failure. Nexen offers a variety of brakes for easy integration into existing designs and more freedom of design when starting a new project.
